Beloved,
Thank you for saying yes. We begin Monday, June 1.
We are following the apostles from Calvary to Pentecost — fifty days. Three days in the grave. Forty days of eating and drinking with the risen Christ. Then the upper-room wait, still breaking bread, until the Spirit fell. They waited for what we now walk in. The table never closed.
On a walk this week, Papa said: “approach this journey like a date.” Not a discipline. Not a forty-day challenge. A date with Jesus. The air you breathe is Him. He sings over you while you sleep. That is the posture.
I want to tell you something. There have been days the wind has kissed me on the cheek. There have been mornings the trees bowed and brushed their leaves against my face. He flirts with me through everything He made because He cannot help Himself, and because He wants me to know He is here. That is the kind of date this is.
You are not governed to a time slot. The YouTube session is offered, not required. Jesus said “as often as you do it, do it in remembrance of Me.” As often. So if His sweetness rises in you at the grocery store, in traffic, or on a walk — take an intentional breath, because the air you breathe is Him. If you wake up in the night and the air feels like Him — sit up, breathe Him in slowly, let Him hold you there. If you are at your kitchen counter and a wave of His goodness lands on you, or you sit down at your desk and tears come because He just whispered something true — go pour a sip and dine right there. If He whispers something sweet to you at three in the afternoon — journal it. Watch for Him in the wind, in the warmth on your skin, in the bird that lands too close. He is going to flirt with you. Let Him. You know how to be loved. And if you don’t yet — make this the best date you have ever been on.
And hear me on this. This is not the table where He points out everything you have done wrong. That is not who He is, and that is not what this is. Tetelestai already finished that conversation. A good date does not catalogue your shortcomings — and Jesus is the very best at being on a date with you. He is going to tell you what He sees. He is going to delight in you. He is going to whisper sweet everythings that you have been waiting your whole life to hear. Let Him love you out loud.
Each morning you will receive that day’s sheet and the YouTube link. Bread and a cup, whatever you have. The Lamb already was.
Two things I am asking. Show up at the table every day. And keep a small journal — but the focus is not you, it is Jesus. Record how your focus on Him is aligning your body, your mind, and your spirit. Journal the sweet things He speaks to you and the sweet things He does in the wind and the trees and the air around you. What He says becomes the witness scripture has been waiting for.
If somebody you love comes to mind, forward this to them. Bring somebody with you.
Come and dine.
— Carmen
